British Home, Sierra Madre, CA
The Annual June Faire is the major fund raiser of the year at The British Home and the event is held on the grounds of this lovely home in Sierra Madre. The Home residents meet regularly throughout the year to make craft items that are then offered for sale from their own booth at the Faire. Members of the Daughters of the British Empire, organized into individual Chapters from the Western States of the USA, also sell items from their booths to raise money to benefit The Home. The residents all look forward to the festive atmosphere of this day, meeting old friends and new, eating traditional British food from the “Tea Rooms” and from the barbeque. Hot dogs and English “bangers” are always a favourite, even on a sweltering day!

The 2010 June Faire will be held on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at 647 Manzanita Ave., Sierra Madre, CA, Tel. (626) 355-7240. Attractions will include a Flag Parade, Scottish and Irish Dancers, English Teas, Scottish Piper, and Big $1,000 Prise Raffle. There will be 20 booths, including a Victorian Tea Room, and a wide variety of arts, crafts, sales booths, and food. ADMISSION IS FREE.

Your Webmaster attended the 2009 June Faire and took the following pictures. Unfortunately, he missed the Scottish Dancers but otherwise attempted to catch the essence of this fine fund-raising event.
